Understand your help options
Law firms
Licensed attorneys can provide legal advice and court representation within their authorized practice. Confirm the attorney’s license, experience, and engagement terms.
Non-attorney legal support
Document preparation, research, and organizational support are distinct from attorney representation. PCRC is listed in this category. Confirm which services are available and appropriate in your jurisdiction.
Nonprofits & innocence organizations
Some organizations provide legal services or review qualifying cases. Actual-innocence organizations generally have specific eligibility criteria and cannot accept every claim.
Official & self-help resources
Courts and public agencies publish forms, statutes, and procedural materials. A resource link is a starting point; it does not establish that a particular filing fits your case.
Nonprofit law firms, agencies, and support resources
A nonprofit law firm can provide attorney representation when it accepts an eligible case. An innocence organization may restrict intake to factual-innocence claims. A government review agency is not the applicant’s lawyer. Trade associations and attorney-facing drafting services are labeled separately; their inclusion does not establish direct consumer representation.
